In this episode, I tell you about four wonderful days in Kyoto, Japan’s ancient capital, a city full of temples, nature, and traditions.

Here’s the itinerary:

• Day 1: walk around Higashiyama, the traditional old quarter with wooden houses and tea shops, and visit Kiyomizu-dera temple
• Day 2: visit Rokuon-ji, the Golden Pavilion, and the fun Kyoto International Manga Museum
• Day 3: take the Sagano Romantic Train, return by boat on the river, visit the bamboo forest, and the Tenryu-ji temple
• Day 4: explore the Heian-jingū shrine with 1,500 wind chimes, stroll in its Japanese garden, and enjoy an evening light show at the castle

Between peaceful temples and iconic tourist sites, Kyoto is a mix of tradition and wonder.
